A. Fingernail Scraping

When probable cause exists to arrest a person, that person may be detained and a fingernail scraping performed incident to the detention, without a warrant.

B. Search of Arrestee’s Clothing

A warrantless search of an arrestee’s clothing may be performed when he or she is jailed.

C. Inventory of Possessions of Jailed Person

A standard inventory may be performed as part of the booking process, and this may include the opening of containers within the arrestee’s possession.
