Theft

(See, MPCSection: 223.1(1))
Strict procedural and historical differences inherent in larceny, embezzlement, and false pretenses prevent them from overlapping and result in gaps between them. Moreover, if one shows that the offense committed is different from the offense charged, a court must reverse on procedural grounds. In order to resolve some of these problems, as well as others, certain states have statutorily consolidated the various offenses against property into the single offense of theft.
