(a) Assume that all of the motions discussed in your answer to Question #1 are denied and that the jury found in favor of all of the defendants against the plaintiff spouses. Subsequently, BB filed a defamation action in astate trial court in New Orleans against the spouses of the two deceased police officers claiming that the public statements the spouses made against him during the course of their lawsuit damaged his reputation and that they intentionally caused him emotional and mental distress. BB sought $50,000 in damages on the defamation claim and $65,000 on the intentional infliction of emotional distress claim. The defendants have come to you for advice on whether there is any way, other than challenging jurisdiction or venue, to have the complaint dismissed against them.
