Petitioner brought a lawsuit claiming he was fired because of his national origin and age. Respondent filed a motion to dismiss based on failure to allege a prima facie case of discrimination.

Discussion.

Instead, it requires a short and plain statement showing entitlement to relief. Petitioner met this requirement when he alleged discrimination because of national origin and age, under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Age Discrimination in Employment Act of 1967. These allegations provide Respondent with fair notice of the claims and potential relief.
